moon river.

One of my very favorite scenes from Breakfast at Tiffany's...and I really do love the song. I wish I took the time to watch it more often. I'm going to work on bulking up my collection of old movies. (they just don't make 'em like they used to) I think Casablanca is first on my purchase list.

At Christmas this year I played a board game called Battle of the Sexes with my family and it was really fun. (i totally recommend it) One of the female-oriented questions asked "What author wrote the book Breakfast at Tiffany's?". I was the only one there who knew it and it made me feel great, but it also made me realize that I hadn't seen the movie in a really long time. I haven't made time to watch it yet, but I had to look up this scene!

By the way, the book was written by Truman Capote. It's a great, easy read so pick it up!

shoes.

if you haven't heard about Lucila Iotti do yourself a favor and look her up. She has an interesting family history as well as an eye for cute shoes. I love the color combinations and the styles she offers. check out the whole collection at her website.

i also read on the cool hunter that you may be seeing a lot of her styles in the upcoming sex and the city movie!! oh how exciting.

i propose that in addition to fashion shows designers should be required to put together an interesting movie showcasing all of their pieces. I love sex and the city just like the next girl...but we all know that without the fabulous wardrobes it would just be a bunch of chicks talking about dirty stuff.

also, i'm going to go ahead and put this here. if you haven't seen this...you should be ashamed of yourself.

god.

so i'd like to thank the fashion gods for this one. my prayers have been answered. i love this woman. i love her ruthlessness, her never changing hair style, the sheer, raw power she has over everything that is clothing in this country and many, many others. seeing this movie will put me one step closer to completing a life quest. i've always wanted to meet her, no, study her. this documentary is as close as i'm going to get. (for now at least)

sia.

this is one of my favorite late night performances of all time. sia, previously with zero7, has an amazing voice and an affinity for cute/strange things like me! fast forward about thirty seconds to avoid some stupid, un-funny joke by david letterman. i want to learn sign language!
